I got up and did the little work on the computer and made my trek into the ‘work’ area ..I had to do by mid afternoon and started planning my next expedition into the nightlife of BKK..
I was tired from walking around and had noted the hundreds of massage stores with polo shirt clad women. boringly sprouting parrot fashion ‘Welcome massage’ Now I must say I have had a massage or two in my time and am a connoisseur of the normal type and the rub and tug version..
The best I must say is when you can have both , but that is very very rare.. I stopped at a little place on soi 4 on the way back to the Omni , about 200 meters up from NEP on the same side of the road. It does seem from the outside as a straight place.. but I took my chances and went in to the delight of the 2 women out front..
asked for the oil massage and was escorted upstairs to a little section separated with curtains.. I am not a fan of listening to some bloke next to me having his fat slapped and rubbed but I was in explorer mode to see what would happen.
She was a cutey but not overtly ’sexy’ so it was exciting to see which way it would go
I did think it would be straight because she showed me to the shower but didn’t offer to help clean me! I pushed the point a bit and she sort of helped but not the nude romp I was hoping for…

Well….. there I was, having some ‘alone time’ with a charming young girl who had such a pretty scalp…

I don’t know which place you are talking about but i must say that almost anywhere I have ever had even a basic thai massage or rub that with persuasion they will at least hand release u.

I dont know how i could specify her in particular. A description would be tough. Thai birds are pretty uniform looks wise really eg. she is quite small I guess - but then so are most of the birds there. Black hair ….etc. And they all wear the same kit at this place. I could put her name up here. But going in and asking for a name could startle her out of her normal modus operandi. She may be on the look out for an investigation from me. So, I dont know. One of her tenents of defence is that the whole place is above board. So any denting of this would be a degree of triangulation I guess

Some of the spa-type places are pretty legit. And in my experience girls often do not offer extras after a Thai massage.
Oil massages are a different story though. Sometimes I think the girls look disappointed if you request a Thai massage. Clearly the money making opporunities are greater when you’ve been rubbing oil all over a bloke’s nuts & bum cheeks for the best part of an hour (versus contorting and sometimes almost assaulting an unsuspecting Thai massage newbie for example).

I have had a few experiences with some of the massage places around Nana and I love the thrill of ‘will she or wonts she’ .. after she has been rubbing you with oil all over .. you generally can tell if her hands stray and linger a little longer in the ‘hot zones’… I wait for them to ask me , I feel a little more negotiating power. I have had a massage in Soi 4 before where the girl really was reluctant.. at the end of the oil massage she made no offers etc.. I called her bluff and asked if the extra was on the menu .. she was either new, shy or a very good actress, and reluctantly agreed , but the end result indicates she was just green as it was like she had never touched one before and I called it off halfway through .. I think she took this a little personally and insisted she finish me off. Who am I to argue.. but she wont get my business again…. As a rule if you go into a back room or upstairs a happy ending is on the cards.. and more often than not FS is available.

I took a wander last night.
There is no massage parlour next-door to the Ever Rich Inn. The closest is two doors away, and is a hair salon with massage facilities, called “August”. Loads of cute hairdresser girls milling around in black dresses with light-blue shirts. At the back of the salon are 4 foot-massage chairs, tended to by aging Issan women in green shirts. Upstairs is for Thai massage, and presumably oil massage.
I tried not to raise the red flag by asking for Ju by name, so sat chatting up a few of the girls for a while, asking their names etc. None of them were called Ju, because it turns out I was chatting up the hairdressers. D’oh. The info above would have been really useful *before* I set off…
Seems the massage girls all sit upstairs when they’re not busy, and people are sent up to them. So it seems the only way to figure out who Ju is would be to ask for her directly. If I’ve even got the right place.
Find out how long she’s worked there. If she’s been there a long time, I’ll wander in and ask for her, and explain that I had a massage with her last time. Hopefully she’ll have been there long enough that she doesn’t remember every single customer.

One of my favourites. Normally I go for the manicure, pedicure, foot massage and facial, all at the same time in one of the reclining chairs at the back. A kind of a wind down to get e in the mood upon arrival usually.
I’ve had Thai massages there and never been offered any extras. Never had an oil massage though. A good mate used to go every week and he never mentioned any monkey business, just enjoyed joking with the girls.
So if it is August she’s at, there’s a reasonable chance she’s on the level. At work at least. On the other hand, I’ve been in there at closing when a few of the girls were off to Nana Disco…

Yup. One of the girls was very flirty, and I had to work very hard to avoid getting her phone number (didn’t want it).
Given that it’s principally a hairdressers, I find it believable that no extras are offered - although it always depends on the girl. Even in a reputable place, if she needs the cash, doesn’t mind lending a helping hand, and can get away with it, she will.

Yes. This place does hairdressing. And actually Ju claims to be just a hairdresser (with manicure and pedicure duties as well). She says she doesnt do massage. BUT offgaurd one day she said she did. Then tried to back track - but it was out there.
How i met her. This was in the daytime and she was on a break and came up to me in the street with her friend. She was in uniform and said she was a hairdresser - so thought she was on the level. A good gf candidate. Got her number. She showed me where she worked. All looked fine. BUT at that point I didnt know there was an upstairs. Found this out recently and my worries started.
My friend says I am an idiot. Look at the location he stresses. How could she not be “working”?
Also - she earns quite a lot with tips, like 15,000 per month some months. A haircut costs 300. 10% of this is 30. That is a lot of haircuts! Also she knows a lot about exchange rates - says some people tip her in foreign currencies. My analysis is that the smallest UK note is 5 pounds which is 300 baht. That is a big tip. They must be very happy with her!
Im very interested in any discussion of this bar girl to hairdresser transition. Why the change? Is it a “retirement” track - when get too old for the bars? Ju is 24. Still “in the game” I reckon age wise.

Don’t think about 10% as a tipping rule. Many people will just give 100, irrespective of the value of the haircut, manicure etc.

I’ve been upstairs for the Thai massage yes, and the girls did inject a lot of ’sanuk’ (i.e. joking and mild flirting) into their work, but that was as far as it went. I never asked for a wank and they nevered offered.
But in any case I have not done this within the last year, when you say your girl has been there. If it’s longer than that I usually was massged by a cute small girl with bright orange hair. As I say, no extras from her.

Glad I got the right place.
I chilled with a foot massage whilst I sussed the place out. Obviously I didn’t know the uniform colours change, but if she’s principally a hairdresser then that’s reassuring - I was actually chatting to the right girls, without realising it. More than half of them have lightened their hair - I guess they get discount. You said Ju has black hair - no highlights? Should be easier to narrow it down. Taller than her colleagues? Shorter? The tiny cute girl on cashier duty when I visited kept calling the other girls by name, which was very helpful. There was an Ae, a Lek, a Joy and a couple of others. I didn’t hear a Ju (pronounced like “jew”?). The woman massaging my feet tried to sell me a Thai massage, and didn’t mention oil, which again suggests to me that it’s a more legit place than most in the area.

Worried: If she’s a hairdresser then 15k a month is not out of line in a tourist area. My wife is a hairdresser near Khao San and she can make between 15k and 30k depending on the season.
While a regular haircut might just be 300 baht, hair colour or a perm will cost 2-4k and tips of 100/200 baht are not exceptional.

August 12 is Queen Sirikit’s birthday. I know this because it coincides with my birthday which is consequently a national holiday in LOS. It is also celebrated as Mother’s Day in Thailand. Because the 12th is on a Sunday and the Thais like to take at least 2 days for celebrating a holiday they are getting a head start (because week-ends don’t count).

I have a close friend that comes to Thailand 3-4 times/yr and on each visit he spends a few days with a girl that works at August. I met her, she’s a little scary looking but my friend swears she gives the best massages ever. She works her massage magic upstairs and it was just massage on my friends first visit. He loved the massage so much he kept going back and eventually started hooking up with her on the side. Sex and massage with no pay but then she started getting possesive. If it is all “off premises” at least that is something. Although upon the condition there is no barfinning system.
At least then I know Ju isnt working in a knocking shop. She is perhaps working in a shopping window where numbers are available at their discretion. This is bad for me as well - but I would say not as bad as the former.

This has lost the urgency for me it once had - as have binned things with Ju now. Was just more trouble and worry than it was worth. But would still be very interested to hear any reports from August.

Or by buying a new SIM card. One friend gets through several SIM cards a year - others have two phones: one for girls (which is usually on silent), and another for everybody else.

there isn’t very much turnover at the massage places and they change the girls’ numbers each day. iis this some way to foil attempts by punters to report back to the punting community about go[C[C[Cy about good/bad choices?
