Well foks. Been so busy lately I did not even see that the 10,000th comment had flown right by. When I first mentioned this we actually had about 400 comments to go so I thought I had sometime but guess not. Congrats to Combover:

Moving on. Strange things happen when you spend time in a bar too much. No I am not talking about drinking but talking about that with the Duke as my office most days I end up seeing some funny stuff. 2 of the funniest things I have seen in a long time happened last night.
First - our Thai manager answered the phone and a Thai person was calling from Bangkok Christian Hospital to verify our location - we are across the street from the hospital. Then a Farang guy got on the phone and asked if we could deliver. Our manager said sure and he went on to order a bottle of Johnny Red, some ice and some mixers. Of course we told him the hospital would not allow it and that was that.
Well at about 12:00am some guy walked into the pub in his hospital outfit and started ordering drinks. Said he had checked himself out early because he needed a drink. He then proceeded to finish off a few red and sodas, some cigs and changed out of his hospital gear into some street clothes. Changed in the bar BTW. Paid his bill, tipped very well and walked off into the night. Bizarre.
Another episode that played out was made more for the Soi 7 Beergarden than a pub in Silom. An older, very good looking Thai lady with impeccable English was sitting at the bar looking for company. That much was obvious. I was sitting with a local Farang guy, also older, who noticed that she kept looking our way. The guy offered to buy her a drink and she obliged. A few beers in for both of them, small talk turned to heavy petting under the table and then a call for the check. I only overhead the small talk related to where to meet, the need for taxi money to get home and all that but sounded like all systems were a go. Good to see action like that. The lady was from Chiang Mai and clearly was looking for love - I was tempted myself given my previous exploits.
Here they go folks - meddling with all that we know and love about Thailand. It seems the uni’s are getting fed up with the students wearing too much casual clothing during classes. I agree - they should be in uniforms as much as possible. Hell - I pay extra for them to wear their uniforms while having sex especially if I am in the BTS room at the Peep Inn. On top of the call for more uniforms they are saying they are going to crackdown on short skirts and tight blouses. Please. Drive another nail into the tourism coffin will you.
To be clear - I think they will solve the casual problem but how are they going to control the short skirts and tight shirts? Is there going to be a patrol or something measuring skirts? That seems easy enough but how do u decide on the shirts? Excuse me miss but is that shirt too small for u or are your breasts extra big today? Well - let me be the first to volunteer my services for the patrol. Sign me up.
Oh Ebay. What have you done now? I am sure some of you know craigslist? Well it seems Ebay has been messing around with them and even taking out google ads to promote craigslist but the ads actually point to Ebay. Wow. Pretty low of such a big company. Pathetic. I never liked Ebay - even when I was selling software to them in Cali. They always had this my shit does not stink attitude. Having met Craig in 1996 I must say I have never met a cooler, laid back dude. I hope he kicks some ebay ass.
Hat tip to Jack the bat on this one - this is some funny shit. Ever get those emails promising you oodles of money from someone in Africa who says you will be rich if you partner with him. I always reply telling them to paypal me as a token of their honesty. Never works. Well here is a very detailed account of someone who took it much farther than I have ever seen.

Most people are taking the “over” on whether we open June 1st. I wouldn’t take that bet but given the photos of the site it seems like the safe bet. We actually have our licenses already so we could conceivably start selling booze onsite today but I think we’ll wait until we have some seating.

g d - u are mistaken. they invested in craigslist and had to abide by some rules according to the investment and seems they did not. Also seems now they invested just to get close to them. Ebay is scum. This will be a david and goliath like fight but win lose or draw ebay is losing face over this. People love craigslist and this battle with prove to be a huge mistake for ebay.

Ahhh, I stand corrected then. Like yourself, I love craigslist. It’s a very efficient model that is extremely easy to navigate. . and free! So, I’m certainly not siding with eBay, cuz Meg is fat and ugly. Just wasn’t aware of the details of the transaction.

The creativity these folks demonstrate in reverse-baiting these spam-hurling scam-artists in what makes the stories so damn funny. I’ve been spending hours reading these tales and it’s really hard to pick a favorite, but here are a few more:
first of all, this is the index for the back-and-forth, and it’s a good idea to read the brief FAQ at the beginning. These cybercriminals are stealing lots of people’s money and you’ll quickly notice how pushy they are for phone numbers, details, and phony appeals to people’s sympathy. But as the 419eaters point out, never, NEVER give them actual details. Don’t forget these guys are criminals!

what’s hilarious is how bent out of shape they get as their quarry gets ever more elusive. the reverse-scammers use many of the same techniques as the scammers (creating multiple identities, alternating sympathy with rage) and the creativity they display is as masterful as it is hilarious. For eBay doing the dirty ads. Well most adsense goes to scraper site adsense clickfarms and they’re clicked by bots. Then again I’d think you could report it and eBay would stop. Who knows. I haven’t seen the ads myself.
There’s a site Random Plaza that is designed to fix all problems with eBay and other community marketplace websites. randomplaza.com — Read the features.
The site is free to list and puts everything on google product search, but despite this it has been impossible to get sellers to list. As it is, advertising can’t be bought until there’s lots of products and I can’t list a hundred thousand myself.
