Things are seemingly getting back to normal in Thailand given the holidays are over but the elections seem to still be in flux and probably will remain that way for a bit. There is also a nationwide state of mourning which has led to the canceling of such large events as concerts and the Tiger Translate Festival. However, apart from all that the nighttime action seems to be kicking again. Just a quick reminder of the Duke Birthday Party on Saturday. Hope to see some folks there.
Also a quick comment on the guide. We will keep adding venues as we go and will add pre-planned features as time permits. We have received a few emails about the maps being in Thai. We don’t really have a choice. Google only makes gmaps available in Thai. Same with Yahoo and Microsuck maps. We had thought by the first of the year gmaps would turn on English but they have not yet. There is only one local map company with a gmap like product that shows English and Thai but it is not as complete as gmaps and we could not build the guide around it due to the simplicity of their APIs. So anyway. It is what it is for now.
Life is strange sometimes. pmmp and I were in the Suan Lum night bazaar the other night looking at some furniture and getting a bite at some terrible food joint. It was so bad I can’t even remember the name. We headed to the MRT and were trying to decide if we wanted to go out or not. Patpong, cowboy, member club, Siam Square and so on. We were going through all the possibilities and even considering not going out. We got out at the Silom station and started to go up the long escalator when we saw her.
Medium height Thai girl. Dark skin. Nice, fit body. Wearing short jean shorts. Short but not too short. A nice black tank top covering her ample but not huge bosom. High heels. High but not too high. Long black hair almost drifting across her perfect ass. Ahhh. The reasons for being in Thailand suddenly all rushed back to the forefront. The game was on. For sure she worked in Patpong. Probably not a Soi Thaniya girl. Too dark. Was she a go-go girl? I thought so. pmmp figured she worked in one of the beer bars and she was already in her outfit.
We quietly followed her out onto Silom and figured she would walk to Patpong. Going out now seemed like a great idea. Patpong anyone? Then she popped on a motorcycle taxi and sped away. Back to Rama 4 and probably around to Suriwong. We blew it. We should have talked to her but we just enjoyed watching her too much to bother introducing ourselves. pmmp considered jumping on a bike as well to follow. We just needed to satisfy our curiosity for where she worked. We decided though to drop it and and our stuff at the Duke. Then head back out to Patpong to see if we could find her. The plan was to flip a coin for who got to barfine her if and when we located her.
We started crusing PP soi 2 looking in the beer bars. Nothing. Even checked Star of Light. Nothing. Then we suspected she was a go-go girl and before doing the go-go rounds we decided to pop into King’s Garden since it looked like it was full of girls and her clothing fit the profile. She was not in there either. The drinks are like a 150 baht in there as well and although the place was pumping there was not a lot of hotties. Then the band started. Some Santana looking dude was playing the trumpet and jamming with the drummer and the guitarist. All sounded pretty good. No vocals. Just some jamming. Then a long segway that dropped them into the beginning of Hotel California. Probably the most tired cover band song in the universe. Then the Chinese looking wanna be Thai pop star took to the stage. What came out of his mouth could hardly ever be confused with singing. He was guffawing his way through the lyrics of a song that he did not know and was reading as he went. It was horrid. The weltkome to de hotal calefornya part killed me. We had to leave. That place sucks.
We hit the big Kings’ joint next and chatted a few of the normal ladys up. pmmp tried to barfine a spinner for a run to Cowboy hoping for some 3some karma but she quickly put the brakes on that. So we left Patpong. never found the MRT girl but at least she kicked off the night.
We were all over Cowboy. Shark, Baccara and Rawhide. Shark was great. I should have barfined. Baccara was awesome but terrible for pulling. Rawhide was not as good as normal but okay.
Then we hit Tunnel. It was one of those times when I should have called the fight. Was getting too drunk to pull but at the same time I wanted to try. Disaster. Nothing doing. Went home but grabbed a kebab on Soi 3 and walked home while chowing down. Was startled by a manlady hiding in the Hanrahan shadows. She would not take no for an answer but what she did not get was that I was getting pissed off by having to swat her hand away and protect my kebab at the same time. The kebab is serious stuff at 5 in the morning.
That’s it for now. I went out last night too. More research. Tried Twisted Republic. Have some Soi 11 news. Hit Magic Table and went to Tunnel again. Freebird has new tits. Also hit a new massage joint on 23. Stay tuned.

g - I was hammered. Exhausted and trudging down the soi. The only glimmer of satisfaction at that point was my kebab. The one I custom order making sure it has just the right amount of sauce to meat ratio. About halfway through the feast it gets messy and I just hold it out with one hand to keep from dripping on myself and let my hand drip on the sidewalk.
Usually some soi dogs follow me to get the scraps. So on top of all this I have a ladyboy chasing after me and I am using my one free hand to keep her out of my back pocket. All rather comical really but to lose that kebab would be horrible. The simple things really do matter.

jim buddy - why don’t u go to school and learn some english before you come on an english speaking site and show how dumb you really are. I know Thailand struggles with teaching english so many of the rich thais send their girls to wall street english to get broken in by young guys teaching english. I hear their language skills improve but not as quickly as their bedroom skills. Strange business it is. Maybe that is where pe met your sister? not sure.
Clearly though the english you are picking up in between handing out the neck massages in the toilet are setting a bad precedent for u. might want to correct that.
anyway. life in thailand is pretty good for me but my guess is the tuk-tuk exhaust fumes are starting to take their toll. might a suggest converting to one of the electric models? it may not be as fun since you won’t be able to rev it up and make a lot of noise but it will be better for you and the environment.
