From a small foyer you enter a high-ceilinged, red velvet reception/bar/lounge which, instead of a fishbowl has a massive circular bar at which anywhere from 20 to 50 women are gathered waiting for your approach.
There’s a stage on the left and separate tables to the right
of this massive oval bar.

Exotica’s primarily an Asian-style club but some of the women definitely showed interest in being approached by Europeans. Considering the age of the clientèle (30 to 65?) the women were ALL beautiful. (i.e. someone for everyone) You’re supposed to take a table and then ask for a particular girl or girls but we had ‘good eye contact’ from the moment we walked in. We still had to “book” through the hostess.

These gals were well-dressed. No 500 baht ball gowns here.
Smart (sexy) casual on average, most looked and sounded urbane and intelligent.

The selection was mostly white-skinned “Bkk-suay” girls and women but what darker-skinned women there were, were absolutely stunning. One, from Narathiwat, had the most incredible bee-stung lips to which she’d applied a few smudges of red gloss . . . . A most engaging conversationalist she told me the joke about ‘nam prik’ keeping your skin white at about the 35 minute mark. I took that as a green light comment of sorts and got her number in the second “block”.

Upon entering and sitting at the smaller tables my host indicated to the staff who we’d like to buy drinks for and spend time with and soon they were at our table. Think of this circular bar as an interactive fishbowl. The girls for the most part spoke English and a few spoke another European language. I heard Korean and Japanese. There were a few other westerners at the club when I was there but we didn’t interact. My girl and my friend’s girl drank long black sodas from our host’s bottle. His girl drank cocktails.

My friend got a number from his early thirties beauty (been to Vancouver and knew how to ski). She was fashionably dressed. Smart casual non of this ball-gown nonsense. (declasse comes to mind) used mia noi? ex-beauty queen? that kind of woman.

No offers of sex on the premises.

There’s a party room available for 12K on the third floor, food and your drinks are billed to that room. There was a large, lawned terrace with swimming pool off the room about half the size of the Pent’s (not for laps I wouldn’t think).
The place is clean. You don’t get the idea that there’s gonna be grime patches around the light switches when the lights go on at two. I saw my host (Chinese property guy) settle a whopping account there as we were being shown around.

As a matter of courtesy more than out of any real interest, I inquired about the rate structure. Basic membership is 30K and that includes 13 bottles of Johnnie Walker Black; mixes in. There seems to be a structured membership system. And perhaps THAT’S where the sex on premises and the other stuff gets offered as you get higher on the pole.
Maybe it’s just an Asian deal. I did not ask.

Your first 40 minutes with a girl will cost you 1110 Baht. It’s 350 baht per 40 minute block after that. There seems to be a member’s discount for lady drinks. You could spend 3000 just talking and another 300 for every drink she skulls. If you like a girl you are free to exchange numbers.
I am quite sure there was a mamasan in the wings.

I had very pleasant conversation with three different women throughout the evening and at no time was there any pressure to “go upstairs”Exotica strikes me as a kind of g-club for older married guys looking for side salad action and the women who work there are looking for sugar-daddies.
I broached the subject several times and was told politely several times that there was no sex on the premises. I find that hard to believe but that was what I was told.

It was a great evening: kinda like going bowling. You better like karaoke ’cause could go through a pile of money here.
BTW We were there for the better part of the evening (closes at 2:00 am) and although I never ONCE heard the word “FARANG” I did hear “European” in that context.

Again, there’s a mamasan and this IS a Bangkok men’s club so sex just has to be on offer.

when I was in 4th grade I called my teacher a dildo. He made me stay after class and write - I will not call my teacher a dildo. I think 1000 times on one of those old style chalk boards. Took hours. When I was finished he asked me if I learned my lesson. I said sure but what lesson since I told him I did not know why he was so upset since I did not know that dildo was a bad word. Told him I did not even know what it meant. He told me to leave that he had given up on me. I went home and asked me mom why my teacher got upset. She said talk to your father. I did. My dad laughed and said to forget about it.
