In the month of November, this website has already received well over a million hits.
More than a thousand people found their way here by typing the name of this website - also the pseudonym of your not-particularly-humble author - into a search engine. They did not find their way here by accident. The rest of you came via bookmarks, by typing the address in manually, by following links from other websites, or by searching the web for (usually) information on some aspect of Bangkok’s naughty nightlife.
My most popular article of late was entitled Just Looking. It has been read by thousands since it was published, just eight days ago, and currently sits in joint-second place on the list of most-commented articles on the front page. Even still, there have been just 66 comments (after, I believe, one deletion), penned by a mere 28 people, including myself.
So there are an awful lot of you reading this who have never said a word in reply.
Today is for you guys.
You don’t have to use your real name.
You don’t really have to use your real email address (although nobody except me will ever see it).
All the readers will ever see is the flag of the country you’re posting from, and whatever you have to say.
Can’t think of anything? How about:
- How long have you been reading?
- Do you like the site?
- Why don’t you leave comments?
- Have you ever been to Bangkok?
- Do you want to?
- What’s your favourite colour?
Just introduce yourself. Is your silence down to shyness? Are you an angry western woman who loves to hate me? Perhaps you can’t think of an amusing name. Just type the first thing that comes into your head. Nobody’s judging.
To the regulars: This is your day off. Go and read a book - it’s so much more worthwhile…
BBB: I visit Thailand several times a year and love to read your reviews of various venues. You help me decide where to spend the precious little time I have there. Thanks. You have been responsible for a number of stellar experiences.
When my body is not in Thailand, your articles let me keep my mind there — helps me stay sane.

I hope I sent a couple of visitors your way with a Thailand Nightlife compilation page. I got back a couple of weeks ago from my 16th trip since April 2002. In many ways it was the best. I should be back again at the end of February. What I find most refreshing about your comments is that you are not afraid to spend a couple of dollars for a premium experience. Too much that is written about Thailand nightlife is from the perspective of spending the least amount possible. It is most disappointing that your posting frequency has been down the last few months. Let's hear more.

I've spent the past week reading the entries on this site as if I am preparing for the State Bar of Texas exam. I've checked it out several times over the past few months, but recently I've been hooked.
I visited BKK twice back in September/October '05 with a few friends who had already made the trip several times. I will be returning to BKK in mid-February. Will spend some time surfing in Bali before I summon demons in Bangkok.
My knowledge of Bangkok is based on NEP and a few hidden after-hours joints, all of which I have no idea of what they are/were called. I remember some pretty scary, non-lit office and residential buildings and 'secret doors' with crazy things hidden all over the place. I was with a lovely lady, I mean whore, I met at Hollywood who wanted to boom boom more than me and show me some secluded areas.
She was quite the looker, after plowing through several contestants, I stuck with her after she sampled my genetic code. Crazy how much NEP has changed according to the posts on this site. I've actually got post-it notes all over my desk for an effective strategy and itinerary when I arrive in BKK. It's rather mind-boggling to come up with a successful means of attack to efficiently 'do' BKK in 10 days.
This site offers some great insight and pretty cool stories. I hope to cross paths with the few lucky gentlemen who call BKK home on this site. One of my favorite memories was buying a bottle of Jack Daniel's for not even 15 bucks I'm almost positve it only cost me 12 U.S. (please no anti-U.S. commentary…I know the drill) from Morning Night bar at entry of NEP and gettting a lot of the fellow patrons to tie one on with me…..
I was the quietest one, to say the least, eating grasshoppers and fire ants with leaves. I got my ass stomped in pool, Thai rules, by some poney-tailed wanna-be ninja who ran the table all night. I'm sure he's still there ridiculing every opponent and treating his pool stick as a sword, he even had some special dance moves to go along with his shots….he was really enjoying his evening, thanks to my complimentary whiskey and his obviously superior billiards skills…. guess that's all part of it. We all had a blast.
I had some great drinking buddies, everyone was laid back and low-key, even Billiard's-Ninja was hell of a wing-man when he wasn't cuttin' a rug with some acrobatic pool shots. So as with everything else I've read, I'm sure that's something that went bye-bye as well, in regards to the price of the JD.
I will be resorting to this site often, can only imagine how I will be upon arrival, telling the lucky lady of the evening to either leave or sit down while studying these posts and trying to figure out my next means of protein disposal. I really enjoy this site and everyone's input. Helps me through the mundane daily routine. Cheers to all.

Been to Bangkok and Pattaya a few times over the years but not nearly as much I would like to.
Especially appreciate the gogo reviews so I can get an idea of how things are over there at the moment.

Been visiting this site since I did a quick google search for reviews on Nana, Lolitas and Eden earlier this month and been hooked since. I've been living in Bangkok/Chiang Mai/Pai for the past 3 years but I'm currently back in the UK for xmas. I just split up with my longterm girlfriend (hence my research!) and I can't wait to get back to BKK to start 'researching' the previously mentioned bars!!
Keep up the good work BBB ;]

regular reader but non-commenter. I lived in Bkk from 2001 to 2004 and loved it. Still visit at least once a year. It's funny that I take my vacations to a place where I lived and worked for 3 years…..just goes to show how fun it is.
I enjoy keeping up on what's going on with the bar scene. Wasn't a huge GoGo regular but was constantly out somewhere, usually playing pool. I like the material on this site and the fact that it doesn't take itself too seriously. I'm completely jealous of your lifestyle and the fact that you apparently don't have to work!

Hi there. I went to Thailand in July to
watch the Asian Cupenjoy the nightlife . Stumbled on your site a few months beforehand though, can't remember how. Looks better since the update. Check the kokosphere everyday nearly, must be addicted.Coming back for march/april to see
my tgfa girl, who I busted just last night. Told me she was working at a disco in Samut Prakhan as a cashier but I hacked into the bamboo telegraph and turns out she is back at NEP hugging the chrome. Oh well such is life.I'll still spend my 2 months with her much to her amazement and mine. Keep up the

Hi Badboy, I have been living in Thailand, for about 20 years. Over that time the nightlife seen in Thailand, has undergone many incarnations. When I first came here to live in 1988. Patpong, followed by Cowboy, were the hot places to go and NaNa, was just getting started. Then for many years it was all NaNa. Now it is Cowboy, and may be shifting back to Patpong, in the near future.
What saddens me most about the Bangkok, nightlife seen of today, is the drastic rise in prices all around. Thailand, has always been a place where one could find beautiful woman, who were fun, sexy, playful, and did not cost you a fortune, to get them in the sack.
I have been a teacher, here in Bangkok, for the past 17 years. Even on a teachers small salary, in the past I could always have 2 good nights out per week. Drinks, food, fun, and some great sex. Now, with drinks, bar fine, and girl fees, plus taxi. You are looking in the range of $100.U.S. for a short time. The wild fun Bangkok, of the past is not so wild and fun. at least for me.
I am always looking for interesting different places to find some SNOOK. I enjoy reading your blog, as you seem to be able to hunt down interesting places, on the wild side. Some are way over my head in terms of prices, but others are not. Have a great Christmas, and New Year holiday.
P.S. I would like to suggest you get down to Pattaya, and report on places like soi 6 and Walking street. For me Pattaya, is the best place in Thailand, for SANOOK. I think you would enjoy it very much.

How long have you been reading? A couple of months. Maybe half a year
Do you like the site? Yep.
Why don’t you leave comment? Not much to add. I suppose there would be if I were out whoring much, but I'm not.
Have you ever been to Bangkok? I've been here for 2 times 3 months.
Do you want to? It's nice, but I'm getting tired of the place. Easily availble sex wasn't all it was cracked up to be.

Hi All
I have only been reading BBB for a few weeks now but I'm very impressed with the site and fascinated to hear about everybody's experiences, both good and bad in LOS and I've learned a lot as a result.
Though I have been coming here for about 7 years as a tourist, I have now been living and working in Bangkok full-time for the past 6 months and am happy to say that I'm now here for good and I love this city!
Though I have a few interesting stories to tell, I can't honestly say that I've had any really bad experiences over here.
I speak reasonably good Thai, which helps enormously of course, and I love the friendliness of the people and the fact that I live a kind of care-free lifestyle over here which would be impossible to replicate in the UK.
So refreshing, also, not to have to have to deal with fat and moany farang chicks (the average Thai girl makes her farang sister look like a carthorse by comparison).
Yes, I don't doubt that there are a few bad apples over here, but you find those everywhere. Happily, though, I don't seem to attract them into my life.
Generally I've found that, as long as you keep your wits about you and don't act like an idiot, you have nothing to worry about and can live the kind of life over here that others simply dream about.

How long have you been reading?1 year.
Do you like the site?Yes.
Why don’t you leave comments?I don't have that much to add, since… "see below"
Have you ever been to Bangkok? No.
Do you want to?No.
What’s your favourite colour?Blue.I've never paid for sex, and think I never will. At the most I've been to a strip club, twice. I don't mean that in a condescending way, that's just how it is.
However, I like reading the blog because it's about a world so totally opposite from mine and it's also well-written, good-spirited and entertaining.
Keep up the good work! (and I'll keep reading)

I enjoy your site, it's well written and the layout is very nice. I'm still getting a feel for the people here, and haven't felt the need to comment.
I first went to BKK in 1983, and have been going back to Thailand ever since, sometimes several times a year. I speak Thai, eat Thai, and over the years, my place in the west began to become a little piece of Thailand, filled with Thai art, statues, movies, music and furniture. Eventually, several years ago, I added the ultimate Thai accessory to the place, a Thai girl. That addition has curtailed my mongering ways quite a bit, but I am still interested in the scene. During our now yearly visits I have some leeway to go out and party, so long as I'm discreet.
I've less than seven more years until I'll have gotten my stash to the point that I can pack it in and move to Thailand for good.

I've been reading this blog for about 6 months - give or take. I really enjoy it because it gives me an update about the nightlife and life in general in Bkk. I have been to Thailand 3x - Bkk, Pattaya, and Chiang Mai and plan on retiring to LOS - which unfortunately is not for a long time. I love spending time in Thailand - I think you have hit it right on several times when you speak of the feminazi Farang men-haters of the west. Generally I don't leave comments because I enjoy reading the other ones and don't have much to add, as I am not part of the regular scene.
Cheers
Keep up the good work, you lucky bastard

I have been reading your site for a couple of months now. There is a reason I keep coming back for more . . .
You know when you go back to the place where you grew up and get a chance to sit around with your old drinking buddies and everyone tells some crazy stories, about boozing, broads, etc… Every story is hilarious and each one keeps getting more and more grandiose. But you always know that this one guy, who always has the craziest nights out with the ladies, will tell his story last and tops everyone else's hands down.
Most of your posts make me feel like I am back in the bar trading stories again. That's why I read, in addition to the fact that I have been to Thailand a couple times and always want to go back for more. Keep up the excellent writing.

Greetings Mr. Bad Boy, I'm a total newbie. Though I've been visiting your pages frequently in the past few months, this is my first post on your website. Going to Thailand for the first time in late December. Staying for 2 and half weeks. Stumbled on your awesome site while day dreaming at work about my upcoming trip and now I'm hooked. Enjoy reading your reviews and your reader's posts. Definitely plan on going crazy over there. Can't wait to visit Lolita's, Star of Light, Club Eden, Annie's, etc..I really appreciate all the advice you and the other contributors give to newbies regarding prices, places to go, how to behave, scams etc…I do have one question: From what I'm reading, it seems like bareback BJs are pretty much standard. Is that true? How safe is that? Keep up the good work and I hope that after my trip I'll have more to say on your website.

I've been reading your site for over a year and been to Bkk about 8 times in the last 5 years. Never commented as felt I had nothing special to add; that is until Just Looking. When I got divorced a few years ago I took my bad case of blue balls and cruised down Michigan Ave here in Detroit for oral relief. It was so good had to go back the next night(told me where she was staying). Looking for more oral relief, but after a couple of minutes she wanted to put a condom on and go to it. Worst pussy ever( closest thing I can think of is like trying to cram your dick in one of the plastic prescription bottles you get your pills in here in USA) She's getting into it,but I pulled out ,got that condom off and back to oral. Never saw her again; 6 months later talking to another "date" find out she was a post-op tranny. Shocked the shit out of me,but explained why was such an odd,not sensual screw. I'm over the post divorce funk now and give off better vibes, so no "dates" necessary here in USA. Like the Thai GFE best though.
Everybody has their thing in Thailand. Nana Hotel is my"hou"in Bkk. Tired of pushy gogo bars,so barfine a server and go to Twan Daeng to dance to Thai music, only farang there sometimes, real good time and Thai ladies love me for it,other Thai guys there make me feel welcome. Go dance at Country Road with live band at Soi Cowboy, slender ladies to dance with, old man like me ain't finding that in Detroit. Walking Sukumvit after closing, the people, the smells, the whole atmosphere is neat as shit! Was turned onto Thailand by my expat brother who now lives and works in Trinidad( used to visit him regular hence the nickname Trinidad John by my buddy) So now we meet couple times a year inBkk with some time to relax in KaronBeach Phuket with the great beach, massages, even read a book or two. His comment is Trinis think "service is servitude" so he still comes to Thailand for a holiday. Your site is the first one when I boot up,it's the "goods",kokosphere was good idea as it led me to Farang Speaks too Much, don't read stickman nearly as much as too many whiners.

@Cowboy Old Hand, Jailbird: Sorry, but the existing Eden Club review tells it like it is. My last trip was pretty much identical to the first, except that the rooms are on different premises, and a little larger. Still the same facilities. Nothing has really changed, so no need to update the review

I've been to Thailand 30+ times since 1998, when Pat Pong was the place to go. Over the years I've watched Soi Cowboy and NEP grow and decline. I remember not long ago when the street in front of NEP was so crowded traffic came to a halt and there was a line to get into Nana Disco. I was at the Disco last month and it was half empty at midnight on a Friday night.
The type of people that visit Bangkok now have also changed, the new visitor does not seem to have the appreciation for Thai people and their culture. I have traveled all over the world and I have never had a negative experience in Thailand.
BBB, I read your postings because you actually "get it" Your posts are honest and capture the Bangkok scene better than anyone else.
Keep up the good work.

Hey BBB and all your regular blog punters,
I have been a daily reader of your site for well over a year. I love your blog, I feel like I know you in a strange way, along with all the your regular blogging punters!
I'm still really bummed about the Big Mango closing. I loved that place at the start of the night. I've taken many a newbie to Nana and started the night a beer. I have wanted to post so many times as, I have many funny stories to share… I have turn on at least 10 friends who now are hooked on your blog.
I'm a visited TL 7x in the passed 3 years. I spend about a month per trip. I speak Thai enough to fake it… I'm a younger guy with and super hot thai girl friend (No, she's is not a BG!) here in Farrangland to keep me company between Bkk trips. (Well, I'm not quite angel.) I get the to learn about the Hi-so side of Thai life from her. I just love Bkk for the party nightlife and think it's the best city in Asia for fun!
So, BBB this is the best Bkk blog on the web! I'm glad I finally decided to blog…

In reply to Jimmy looking for new places to go, if your going to venture to Patpong try this Thai club /disco before you go i dont know its name but you cannot miss it about 75 metres past the Makro superstore on Narathiwat Ratchanakhrin Road in Sathorn great fun watching the girlies have a drink before they venture onto their nightly escapades and your teachers salary will ample cash as the big bottles are only 90bt no heineken but try the jap beer Asahi its very good also 4 different bands playing nightly. Warning be early like 8pm weekends gets heaving with fanny then only 50bt taxi to patpong ah what a life. Have you been BBB? P.S Hours 5pm till 3am

My msg. to the Millions of men out there that come to Thailand for SEX.
1. Don't exploit the women
2. Do treat them with respect
3. Stop bragging about hooking up!
4. Don't be a ruiner and ruin it for the other tourists!!
Thai people are very tolerant to a point - just don't get us into the red zone, we'll have somebody paid to put you 6' under.

@Wadayno: compete.com can only measure website visits by people who have installed a specific browser plugin.
So those numbers in your link are not in any way accurate. But they do show that this site's readership has grown by 842.8% amongst compete.com users over the year. Which is nice.
FYI, I only use log analysis for my stats. This means that every visit is counted, whether the visitor has specialisist plugins installed or not.
In danger of drifting off-topic here though… Any newbies left?

I couldn't for the life of me exactly recall how I landed here a couple of weeks back… must have been looking around for cheap flights or something like that. Hi all. I’ve been enjoying the posts for about six months, dropping by a few times a week. Anyone who reads a blog that often must enjoy it unless he is a masochist with too much time to waste. I find the posts and comments to be well written, entertaining, and informative. Or some combination of passing marks. Yes, I’ve been to Bangkok and other parts of the LOS many times. Why don’t I leave comments? Two reasons. First, much of the BBB discussion is “insider baseball”. Many of the posts are one-to-one comments and responses about who did what, when, and how. That makes for interesting reading. Usually, anyway. I'm not complaining, mind you, but there’s little opportunity and less need for those of us who do not live in the LOS to join in.
Except, of course, to tell you how much I envy (or hate?) all of you for the “who, what, when and how”.
I could post that comment exactly once, right? Then it would be insufferably boring and might trigger a whole long thread containing rants about who hates you (all) (more). Whatever. Second, I do write about my all-too-infrequent visits to Bangkok. Or Cambodia, or Indonesia. But because the visits/tales are all-too-infrequent, and because, like BBB, I value my anonymity, the reports need to be posted in a way that protects that anonymity. Those tales are a poor fit with the rapid response style of BBB posts and my text get posted in another forum. Let me end up where I began – I enjoy reading posts on this site. I’d miss it if it were to disappear. ~ tsongpa
