The Pent - The Tunnel and Buffets are good…

Well folks - since we don’t have any Mango specials to talk about at the moment I thought I would give a quick mention of the buffet lunch down at the Duke Pub in Silom. Shameless plug I know but one has to pay the bills in order to constantly slave through the Bangkok nightlife. For the team Johnny. So Monday-Friday at the Duke there is a buffet lunch from 11:30 am - 2:30 pm. Salad, soup, bread, Thai food, Western Food, water, tea or coffee. 200 baht. What a bargain. Free Wi-Fi too. It can be your office away from the office. Your home away from home. For me it is a free meal and a chance to delete all the comment spam from the blog.

Met up with some punks down at The Pent last night. For some reason I am just not getting my groove there. I usually come to early and end up heading for cowboy to look at some tits. Other times I go to late and all the hotties are busy. However - I will prevail. I do like the disco room. Tons of eye candy, good music and a great vibe but I am not down with the extended moments of slow love songs. That needs to go. I will be voicing my unwanted opinion to management. Anyway. I got my buzz on.

From the Pent we headed to the Tunnel. It was ladies night. It got rammed. We pulled out our collapsible travel butterfly nets and went to work. Easy pickings. Scored a phone number from an Udon honey with dark skin, big boobs and a perfect ass. I love Bangkok. For all of u reading this from somewhere like America - I am sorry to say this but there are so many women here I can hardly believe it myself. The Tunnel appeared to go way late and is supposedly back to a regular 5:00 AM closing.

From there I went home to continue watching Prison Break and play text message games with my harem. I here Cowboy is going great guns and rumor is that Nana is still there. More from the front lines later.

peace.

At least the guys in America can get access to women. Even if they are pug ugly and a far cry from a young nubile Thai hottie.

Being in the Sahara Desert, I have to resort to looking at the Mango website and pulling one off over my laptop. :(

I must say.. the ‘Steak Sandwich’ at the Duke has to be the best ever I’ve had! Being nice and soft, my fragile teeth are not at risk.

Also… (and I’m sorry to say this) the ‘Duke Burger’ kicks the ass of the ‘Big Mango Burger’… Compliments to the Chef!

Butterfly nets. Brings to mind a picture of a group of sex-crazed, pimped out, Lepidopterists sarging their local nightclub ala Gary Larson. Someone draw the cartoon for this one please.

Excuse me ? Although I too am partial to SMS games with young ladies, I normally reserve them for times when I am out of the country…like when I’m in Saudi Arabia or the like.

You are spoiled rotten that you chose “Prison Break” over the pleasures of the flesh.

I’m jealous of course, but my time will come…retirement beckons.

heck - just an expression. your cartoon idea seems scary.

bo - I am bombarded by the pleasures daily. sometimes I need to focus.

msb - u are correct. I am still a bigger fan of the shield and the wire.

bf - ladies night is every tuesday. all ladies get in for free and get one drink. good stuff.

Don’t tell me you’ve never cracked a smile at The Far Side?

The only thing scary about last night is that I missed out!!!

Saw a couple of episodes of PB3 in the West before returning to Thailand. Edgy, set in a Panamanian Prison so rough the guards have left the grounds and turned the prison over to the inmates. Back on target, I think.

Waiting for the Wire 4 to come out on DVD. (Omar is my hero).

Why, some may ask, are healthy, virulent males reading books and watching dvds here, rather than spending all conscious hours chasing or laid up with with ladies desperate for out attentions?

When I traveled here for 2 week holidays, ladies and bars were my only interest, and any other required activities were tolerated, but resented.

Now that I am staying here most of the time, I enjoy having the bars and ladies as a distraction rather than the primary focus. I go to Pattaya and Angeles City when I want to play serious bargames.

Looking forward to trying the buffet at the Duke.

I love the Shield, and on my next visit I would like to buy number 4 and 5. And if you want to have a good laugh, put the english subtitles on. Last night I was watching “Hannibal rising” on a copy DVD from Thailand. The sound quality sucked so I put the subtitles. When the policeman said ;”You will die under the guillotine”, the translation read;”You will die under the gelatine”.

@Phoenix: I wouldn’t get my hopes up. This is his 80th birthday, and seeing his recent health there may not be too many more. I’m guessing late night bars will be hard pressed to open on the 5th (post midnite 4th).

yeah wire 4 out ?? I thought that series was f-ing brilliant and very under rated. Better than shield which was good at first but then went down hill a bit.

my guess is until we get closer to the birthday we won’t know. but given his sister’s health, the 80th and so on my guess is things will get pretty serious around here.

never got into deadwood. have yet to check out boston legal. I guess I don’t have that much time for tv. :)

Deadwood - best tv series of all times!!

smitty, if you go to the Pent 22:45 sharp is the time to go. The dancing officially starts at 23:00 and the place is packed by 23:05. Any earlier and it’s the most boring place in town.

@smitty, Orion, Daywalker, MSB : Not to be too pretentious about this but Deadwood has attempted classical Elizabethan stage direction(no shit!) (solioquay, aside, foil etc) ALL - many of this series’ actors are old Shakespearean types (RADA grads) and the series first materialized when the director first approached HBO with a pitch for a dram series set in Rome!
Yeah, at first I thought thihs was overdone, but they do it well.
There’s always the “rewind” if you get tripped up on the phrasing.
    Worth a look.

For shear “flash” writing and brilliant courtroom editorials from the the leads, the pace, wit and self-parodying nature of Boston Legal is a sure cure for those numbed out by second hand Thai “mia noi” dramas and the like and in desperate need of an irony fix.

The Shield was pretty good till they wrote themselves into a corner in season 3. But what the hell.
Good performances! Compelling action. and you can always “fast forward through the “acting.”

Watch much TV? Naw. It takes an hour and a half to clear your head with what for me has become a ball massage for the brain.
BTW, Thanks for the info, Kenneth

Gonna download “the wire” and see what the raves are all about.

I’ll admit to a penchant for good entertainment. This stuff just happens to be “on TV”

    @Thongsuk

The Shield may not have ‘Elizabethan stage direction’ but has got some cool big trucks, lots of guns and the odd hottie.

@ Daywalker: Sure. Liked the first three or 4 “Shield” runs.
But you really should check out Deadwood.
know it sounds a little strange but they’re writing in iambic verse, using period diction and vocabulary. As if they read all the correspondence and the newspapers from the period.
When you consider that this stuff is done for money in America and most everywhere else (UK?- BBC?)this experiment is quite bold.
This antique diction in that “authentic” setting gives the whole thing a ‘”Gunsmoke” on acid’ feel.
    Very odd.

@ Daywalker: In Season 1 they seem to be feeling their way around, a bit They start hitting their stride with that quirky thing I mention in Season 2.
But yeah, it’s a horse opera. Plenty of tits and ass and “life is cheap” angles.

Porn? (Seck movie. DVD, VCD, porno-seck movie) You know where to get porn?(porno seck movie, DVD, VCD SUV. Young lady porno seck :-) I thought it was illegal here. (pono, porno, VCD, seck, DVD yung ladee)

Thongsuk - HBO turned down the Rome idea because they were already shooting a Rome series, by the same name, which is pretty damned good as well!
