hi,

I've been reading posts here a while, so I decided to register. I have been to Bangkok a few times and had the most fun when I visited on my own after my divorce.

I will be in Bangkok for a while in November, I'm staying at Royal Asia Paradise hotel on Soi 8. I haven't stayed there before, but it looks good. They advertise no extra charge for guests.

I'm quite comfortable cruising the bars on my own, but also happy to have a drink and a game of pool if anyone is interested. I drink very little alcohol; my focus is on other pleasures.

@Bison: You're as likely to see girls dancing buck naked as in a bikini in Cowboy these days.

Off the top of my head, the following clubs have girls dancing naked for at least part of the night:

Cactus Club (all the time)
Midnight Bar (most of the time)
Suzie Wongs (lesbian show)
Rawhide (frequent shows)
Five Star (midnight show)

Topless:
Upstairs of Baccara
Dollhouse (or maybe Shark... they're next to each other and I'm easily confused)
Apache? (I haven't been in the renovated Apache... when I was there last it was topless, though)

I don't make it my job to keep accurate track, so others may have more accurate updates on the nudity around the traps.

Mandarin Club in NEP has girls dancing topless upstairs from about 9:00 nightly. All in all, Mandarin is starting to look a lot like Club Baccara with a more relaxed attitude.

Generally over the past few months I've been seeing bars closing between 2 and 3 a.m. A big change from the frequently enforced 1 a.m. that was common a year ago.

All in all, the level of nudity and closing times seem noticeably more relaxed versus a year ago. I hope the trend continues, though -- personally -- I'd rather not see the frog trick.

bb = who knows but sometimes I feel like it may lighten up a bit. i always think it is funny since cowboy is hot right now but cowboy used to suck and all the fun was in nana. I guess things come and go over time but hopefully things will loosen up.

It reminds me of the story of a guy sitting at a beer bar in nana trying to peak up the bartenders skirt hoping to see some panties. His buddy asked him why and he said he sees so much nudity all the time in nana that he wanted to see something he was not suppose to see.

So, when will we see a return of the days up to 2001 before Thaksin took office and Burachai launched the "New Social Order Campaign"?

Hollywood Strip on the third floor along with Carousel had some unconventional dildo shows. Then there was the butt-ugly hag who shoved three live frogs up her twat and proceeded to propell them down the length of the stage at the unsuspecting punters... There was so much nudity in NEP that we used to hit on the fully clothed waitresses for variety.

A new hotel opened on Suk/Soi 8, about 500m down the Soi on the right, across from Royal Asia. I hear the rates are 900thb.

They have a tuk tuk that delivers you to the top of Soi.

@Mr Radar: If you're on a budget, you might consider Honey House on Soi 22 -- a short walk to Phrom Phong BTS, Asok BTS or Sukhumvit MRT, very close to Soi Cowboy.

http://www.honeyhouse.co.th/

http://www.honeyhouse.co.th/room.html

Prices start at 690 baht per day or 4,500 per week.

Wi-fi, daily maid service, good restaurant downstairs

Lucky Bastard!!!

Can't help you with the Accom.. but get yourself to the Big Mango Bar and get yourself the 'Bangkok Virgin' shot.

- I hear they're quite good.

Oh, and give the bell a ring when you get there. - This lets them all know you are new in town

Hi Day Walker

Will actually be in BKK in the next few days looking to stay for a couple of weeks. You are right about not being too picky where to stay, like you said as long as I'm not too far away by taxi or relatively close to the skytrain that will do me fine if it saves some moolah on the accommodation.
