In addition to the duck they do get some decent seafood as well; try the Hoy Lie (which are clams prepared "kra pao" style). Note this restaurant closes by 8 PM, maybe earlier on weekends. They also get daily produce/seafood so often run out of things during the dinner hours. There mare many, many restaurants of this type (pat ta karn; open-air, reasonably-priced) in Bangkok, it's just a matter of looking for them. re: side note, The Shield's 'sister show', The Unit, also had an embarrassing Thailand plot/reference in a season 2 ep., re: a Thai prince in LA.
