My Life Is Complete

Manna from Heaven, yesterday

Manna from Heaven, yesterday

As of August 15th, McDonalds is serving breakfast in 4 locations from 5-11 a.m. Locations are CP Silom, The Mall Ramkamheng, Royal Garden Pattaya and Rajdamoern.

The alarming lack of Sausage and Egg McMuffins in Thailand was previously the only reason one might consider not living here. Now, there is no turning back. That is all.

    Followed up by the McSweats, leading into the McNausea, terminating in a massive McPuke into the McToilet … really, 3B, how can a man who exhibits such sophisticated taste and aesthetic sensibilities in other areas suffer from such a dearth of gustatory refinement? A plastic bag of mango parts is better for you and cheaper and doesn't feed the Evil McEmpire … shame on you! SHAME!

    @Pants Elk: You must be on drugs (kidding). Mcd's breakfast rules. I can't wait to get my hands on a McMuffin.

    I find it fascinating that I'm criticised more frequently for my taste in junk food than for my supposedly misogynistic lifestyle.

    That's because your "mysogynistic" lifestyle is really a living expression of love and respect for Thai whores and morally irreproachable. Whereas your taste in junk food (and there is no taste in junk food) is a regrettable lapse into moral degeneracy.

    @bkk22 - I am now on Beecham's All-In-One, thanks to airconditioned long-haul flu - and that's still a better breakfast than anything you'll find in McDump's!

    McD's breakfast the only thing you have missed! My list ran like this; Marston Pedigree, Stella Artois, Kron 1664, Eccles Cakes, Proper bacon and sausage, doner kebab, bread, ribena, lucozade, stilton, pork pie, pukka pies, granny smiths, cream cakes, frys cream, cadbury's, custard creams. Don't get me wrong, there is probably a list that long I miss about Thailand, but McD's breakfast is not one of that either. I do miss the cardboard wrap around the Big Macs though.

    "Mango parts"…. You've got to be kidding me. Som tom is the best for an early morning breakfast. Add a handful or two of sticky rice and the day 'burns on'!

    one thing i miss about england is paying 20quid to get into my local nightclub to get treated like a cunt on the way in by the meathound bouncer, then to dodge the puddles of blood and sick on the carpet get to the bar, only to wait 20 minutes for a bottle of beer and to get charged equivalent 300baht for the priviledge - then wonder the dancefloor and ogle the 15stone beauties with there bellies hanging out of a tshirt that wouldnt fit my 8year old niece
    i also miss paying 350baht for a kebab and for the cunt taxi driver to demand flat fee of 20quid (1400baht) for a 5
    minute taxi ride - oh how i miss UK

    i think it's a sad comment when a guy who likes mcdonalds is treated like a smoker.

    What's next..a special section for McD's eaters…make em go outside ?

    BBB, i say you eat all you want. you can even have my share.

    There are already special areas put aside for those who want to eat a McDumpburger - you can recognise them by a big yellow arch-shaped "M". As to making them go outside - nooooo! Stay in there!And you can have my share, too …

    That's great news! But, for me the egg-mcmuffin was the backup plan… I really like the pancakes and I haven't had pancakes for 3 years now! They have pancakes now?  What about milkshakes? previously only burger king had milkshakes - I found them at Khao San road…

    While we're on the subject of food (and yes, I'm avoiding work - why do you ask?) - leave biscuits out overnight, they go soggy. Leave cake out overnight, it goes hard. What's that about?

    ART - how could you remind me…  what about the mcdonald's portugeuse sausage and rice?  I used to have that one in Maui when I was there in 2002-2004. mmmmm man.  Art - you know Ahi Poke shoyu?  Limu?  Oh god…  I need to get back to hawaii soon here… I'm wasting the last good eating years of my life! After 60 doesn't one lose all sense of taste?

    Almost 30 responses and no mention yet of much more sophisticated Egg and Bacon McMuffin - I used to live for these - how sad that sausagemeat (any idea whats goes into that guy's?) has won out over the untainted and vastly superior rasher

    @hanuman: But you'd drink Chang?  :)

    @doctorbond: I am gobsmacked myself by the number of responses to a throwaway post.  A proper piece will surface tomorrow, rest assured. If I can stay away from the bars for long enough, that is. However, sausage is far superior to bacon.

    BBB - I guess people just relished the opportunity to talk about another subject for once - now we have got that out of our system we can go back to the higbrow stuff - just before I go can I draw your attention to the fact that sausagemeat is one of the few foodstuffs that looks pretty much the same going in as it does coming out - feel free to cogitate on that one.

    One more thing to look forward too upon getting back to BKK: a late night snack when I make my bleary-eyed way out of an all night joint on my way to bed at 8:00 AM in the morning. Mana from heaven in the form of an LBFM and ambrosia in the form of an Egg McMuffin!

    One of the reaons I like'd' Thailand so much was that in those very odd times when I wanted a hamburger for breakfast, like after a night really heavy drinking, I could get one to settle my stomach, something nice and boring-bland and something that McDs does well.  Hope they haven't stopped serving the burgers. I need one every few months or so when I can't get to any good Thai food for breakfast.

    I'm sure they're still serving the burgers - and remember, there are only 4 McDonalds branches in the country doing the breakfast (at the moment). Hopefully this will expand, but I'm sure they won't drop the regular menu items.
