Not sure if anyone caught this but I was checking out the Bkk Post article about Thailand’s Ministry of Culture. Seems Soi cowboy and Nana are safe but Patpong was singled out for -
Later in the conversation, though, she speaks of the time she took an exploratory trip to Patpong for work. She calls it an immoral place for tourists that do not have normal behaviours.
I ask her if it bothers her that Thailand attracts the abnormally behaving tourist who comes to do immoral things. She blames the tour companies and the negative image perpetuated by previous tourists and foreign media, presumably like the aforementioned dictionary.
I guess Nana and Coyboy goers are a little more normal. Thank god but whats up with the spelling of behaviours? Maybe I am not the only one with spelling issues in Thailand?
This article also talks about why we never saw “Team America” in Thailand which by the way is one of the funniest moves ever. Seems the puppet sex scene is just a little too much for people but the “sword fights” during the shower show at Jupiter 2000 are no problem. We have a theory on this one though - I just don’t think the boys in brown want to go in and bust a male go go bar given how they audience feels about them.
I must say though I am pleased that they are concerned about how dangerous going to the movies is and how much they care about my ability to breathe -
Ladda is also troubled by the trend for youth to dress fashionably, and not practically - with tendencies to turn up at movie theaters in tank tops (”dangerous” to health because of the cool theater temperatures) and to class in uniforms which are too short and too tight. (She also calls this fashion choice dangerous, alleging that snug clothes can stifle breathing and lead to sex crimes.)
I just hope there is never an official crackdown on the ubiquitous uni dress…

“behaviours” is the spelling you find in England, Australia, et al.

What Ladda is really saying is that she does not get “it” anymore, so why should somebody else. She does not like tight clothes because she can’t wear them, or would look ridiculous in them. If you can, it seems to me that you do. She may be ugly enough to stop a clock, or just jealous of the younger girls who have a great a$$, and can suck the chrome off of a Chevy bumper.
